We're facilitating a book read of Resmaa Menakem's My Grandmother's Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Pathway to Mending Our Hearts and Bodies*, with Music that Makes Community this spring-summer.
If you've read our Reflection for the UCC Musician's Association, then you know how transformative this book is.
Would you like join us?
Here's the overview:
- 8 sessions, every other week starting April 26
- Current scheduling options are Mon & Thu afternoon. Due to the big response, we're considering weekday evening and/or Sat morning options.
- Sessions 2-7 will be 90-minutes long. Sessions 1 & 8 will be 60 minutes.
After reading this book, there will be an option to continue your growth and healing with an ongoing practice group facilitated by us.
We are looking forward to experiencing this book with you!

* We'd like to suggest that you use an independent bookseller near you. You can look for
one on https://www.indiebound.org/. In Minneapolis-St. Paul, we'd especially like to recommend Black Garnet Books, a black woman-owned store. They don't have a permanent physical location yet, but shopping https://bookshop.org/shop/blackgarnetbooks supports them as they move in that direction.
