Someone suggested we sing this song to our High School graduates on their Send Off Day. The words fit the occasion filling them with confidence without the sugarcoating.
We are going,
heaven knows where we are going,
but we know within.
And we will get there,
heaven knows how we will get there,
But we know we will.
It will be hard, we know
and the road will be muddy and rough,
but we'll get there,
heaven knows how we will get there,
but we know we will.
Woyaya (translation of African: So be it! Amen!)
Many of you may know the Art Garfunkel version, http://youtu.be/viwERI295zU. Did you know there's a wide variety of versions on YouTube? Check out these...

- http://youtu.be/HS0z4i22viY by Quattrottave (or Liz Petty, The 4/8 Singin' Factory, & Tommy Eden ... depending on where you look)
- http://youtu.be/1z1qWIiWJy4 by Linda Tillery and Cultural Heritage Choir (song starts at 4:00, so you'll want to get it loaded and come back ... although she's really funny talking to Finns)

If you'd like to be part of the group (men and women) singing this to our seniors, let me know at conie@saintmarysepiscopal.org. Check your calendars to see if you'll be in town for one or both Senior Send-off Sunday services (Jul 31, 10:30a; Aug 21, 9a), then check the Sun before to see if you can attend the rehearsal at 10a. If there's enough interest in a mid-week rehearsal we'll schedule one then too.
And we'll get there, heaven knows how we will get there, but we know we will.
